Christmas pudding

sorry its been so long since my last post. have been very buy with work.

I have had a great crocheting day today making a Chrismas pudding 🙂

i made it free hand but will try and explain what i did, the instructions may not be completely acurate, but i will try my best 🙂

BOTTOM-

Single Crochet into each stitch

Single Crochet, and increase, Single Cro, increase for 2 rounds

Triple Crochet into each stitch

repeat last 3 steps for about 8 rounds

single crochet, decrease, single cro, decrease for 2 round

end off, i have put a bowl inside the bottom to hold lollies

TOP

same instructions as above, but keep repeating last step until hole is about 10cm, fill with stuffing, then continue to close off the hole.

about half way down the top, single crochet around the whole edge.

double crochet right around

scallop edging. triple crochet into one stich 5 time, single cro 3 stitches, and repeat till you have gone all the way around. end off

HOLLY (make 2 of)

ch2 and join, 5 double cro into ring. single cro one chain, double cr 3 times into one stitch, turn work and double crochet 2 times. turn work, single cro 2 time, turn work, single cro and end off.

second leaf is the same, but join the yarn next to other leaf.

CHERRIES (make 2 of)

ch2 and join, 8 double cro into ring, then single cro next row.

hey knitters 🙂

i have been working on a Ninja Mask for my Yarn Bombing

i thought you might like a look and i thought id share the pattern

the pattern is rough as i didnt write it down as i designed it, so im sorry if its not quite right.

using 6mm needles and 8ply yarn

  • cast on 10 stitches
  • knit to 10cm in length
  • next row, knit one, inc one until you get 21 stitches
  • knit 5cm
  • knit 10 st, cast off one stich, using another ball of yarn continue to knit the last 10 stitches
  • continue knitting each set of stitches for about 8 cm (until the slit is long enough to cross both eyes
  • knit complete row and go back to using one ball of yarn
  • knit for 5cm
  • knit one, knit 2 tog until end of row, so you have 10 stitches again
  • knit for 10 cm and cast off (you can make sure both side are the same by folding in half and measure against first half)

sew in ends and sew end peices together… and TADAAAA you have a ninja mask 🙂

The Travelling Yarn…something easy to do to help those less fortunate

HI Knitters

I have started a charity fund raiser.

I want to collect squares fom all over the world, make blankets and donate them to a wonderful charity called Save The Children.

Save the Children (thru Unicef) is an organisation

who collect  knitted/crochet squares , made with 8ply wool.

the specifications are listed below

Knitted Blanket Guidelines:

  • Please use 4mm needles
  • Please use8ply 100% pure wool (pure wool is used as it is less flammable then acrylic)
  • A perfect-sized blanket is made up of 16 knitted squares
  • Each square should be about 20cms x 20cms (44 stitches wide, 88 rows high)

if you would like to know more about Save The Children please visit

http://www.savethechildren.org.au/what-you-can-do/campaigns/born-to-knit/how-to-knit-a-blanket

When you are making your square, i would love you to email me a picture of you and the sqaure,

where you are from and why you want to help.

I will be starting a photo album called “the Travelling Yarn” on my facebook page.

 please send emails to knitaholics@yahoo.com.au

when you have completed your square and emailed me, i will give you the address to post it to here in Melbourne, Australia.

Im so excited about this project, and would LOVE to have this as a world wide contribution to helping keep the Homeless warm

if you would like any more details/info please email me at knitaholics@yahoo.com.au

thankyou all so much, and i cant wait to get the ball rolling…so to speak

Also, there is no time limit as such, each blanket needs 16 squares, so i will sew them together as they arrive, and will be sure to post pics of when i donate them 🙂

xxoo

THANKYOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT… this is a great, and easy way to help those less fortunate then ourselves xx

Flower Pattern- Super easy

Hi Knitters

i have made a pattern for a SUPER easy flower, and looks so pretty. size can be varied depending on what size u want it. this flower is roughly 8cm wide

Using 4mm Needles (8ply wool) cast on 50 stitches

knit 2 rows (change colour here if desired)

next row, knit 1, cast off 10, keeping that stitch on the right needle (you now have 2 stitches on right needle) cast off 10 again, and repeat to end of row.

knit 1 row

cast off

SUPER easy and great for lots of craft projects

Happy Knitting ❤ Jadels
